Diabetic foot (& ulcer) assessment and management

This program will equip you with skills regarding:
- screening and assessment of patients with diabetes at risk of developing foot ulcers
- education of patients at risk of, or with, diabetic foot ulcers
- assessment and management of patients with diabetic foot ulcers
This educational program is designed to provide information on diabetic foot (& ulcer) assessment and management and offers you two alternative pathways:
- you can access the 7 short 'Practice Tips’, which will provide you with concise information aimed at ensuring you have the knowledge and skills needed to assess and manage diabetic feet and their complications
or
- you can complete the full three hour accredited program which will provide you with detailed information on each aspect of the education and the opportunity to practically apply this knowledge through case studies and activities.
As the incidence of diabetes mellitus rises, so too does the number of patients at risk of diabetic foot problems, particularly ulcers. Your goal as a primary care practitioner is to prevent diabetic foot complications, including amputations.

- educating patients about care of their feet
- referral protocols
- assessing diabetic foot ulcers
- differentiating foot ulcers
- managing diabetic foot ulcers.
