Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services in the local community. (ACT-2030-10Q)
This activity follows on from the unit, 'Who's who in the local community', which will guide you to building a complete picture of the community in which you are working. You will be asked to locate the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services and general health services in the community.

Learning Objectives:

  • Have an approach to identifying the health needs of the local community
  • Identify the health care resources available within a particular community
  • Be aware of government policies or funding that may impact upon the delivery of appropriate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services in your area
  • Use a worksheet to build a personal resource that will help you to provide appropriate community-focused health care
The Queensland Health Cultural Awareness online training program was developed from the Queensland Health Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Cultural Awareness Program, and approved by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Branch, Corporate Office.
