Culture, health and identity – what do you think? (ACT-2028-10Q)
Often we are not aware of our own beliefs or cultural identity until we come in contact with another culture. By reflecting on our own identity and culture we can understand why people might find another culture challenging. In this activity we look at the concepts of culture, identity, stereotypes, health and culture shock and how we might define them.
|
Learning Objectives:
- Reflect on what makes up an individual’s identity
- Contemplate the definition and potential impact of stereotyping
- Define your own concept of health and well-being
- Reflect on your understanding of the concepts of culture and culture shock
